CONFERENCE DETAILS
CLSBA’s Annual Unity Conference is the association’s premier event providing attendees with dynamic and inspirational keynote speakers, evidence based workshops, important policy conversations and powerful networking. More than 350 school board members, superintendents, district administrators, and other educational leaders gather each year to learn, network, and support each other.
The Vision
Be the premiere professional development opportunity for school board members who commit to advancing effective and equitable policies that strengthen the academic opportunities for of Latinx students, families, and faculty, and the quality of the elementary and secondary schools within their communities.
The 2022 Theme
CLSBA is excited to host our annual Unity Conference in person this year in beautiful Monterey, CA, at the Hyatt Regency! Our theme for this year is: ¡Unity 2022! ¡Por Ellos! ¡Si Se Puede! Join us for powerful keynotes, meaningful workshops and conversations designed to enhance our organizations and student outcomes.

PRESENTATION GUIDELINES
Who should submit a proposal?
We are calling for all school board trustees, education equity professionals, state and local government representatives, education partner organizations, and all education industry leaders to submit proposals sharing thought-provoking presentations, interactive demonstrations, and engaging conversations.
Length of Presentations
Workshops sessions represent the core of the conference offerings and feature a successful policy, practice, program, or key issue. Breakout sessions are 50 minutes in length, may include multiple presenters and are intended for all participants.
Presentation Scope
Presentations should be interactive, engaging and relevant to the learning outcomes of this conference. If the presentation focus is more appropriate for a corporate agency, it will not be considered unless a clear connection to the collegiate experience is understood by the Selection Committee.
Presentation Policy
Presenters are expected to engage participants in interactive learning activities, provide electronic handouts (optional), and be prepared to respond to post-conference requests for more information. Conference proceedings will be made available to all participants after the conference. Presenters must agree to share a narrative summary of their presentations or a copy of their PowerPoint slides.
Proposal Submission and Notification
- Submissions are due by 5 pm on Monday, July 18
- Presenters will be notified about their proposal status via email by July 25
- If your workshop is selected CLSBA will provide a $100 registration discount
