The election will be electronic, with ballots sent via email to current dues paying and eligible voting members.
Voting begins at 4p.m. Friday, September 18, 2020 and closes on Sunday, September 27, at 11:59 p.m. (In the event of a tie, tie break election will take place on Thursday, October 1 and Friday, October 2, 2020). Election results will be announced at our Annual Membership Meeting, scheduled for Saturday October, 3, 2020.
Nominations Are Open for the Following Board of Director Positions (Two Year Terms):
Board President
The President of the Board shall preside at all meetings of the board of directors and preside at all member’s meetings. The President shall be the chief executive officer of the organization and perform such other powers and duties as may be assigned by the board of directors or prescribed by the bylaws. The president shall have such other powers and duties as the Board or the bylaws may require.
Vice President
In the absence or disability of the President, the vice president shall preform the duties of the President. The Vice Presidents serves on the executive committee in a leadership capacity. The Vice President supports the President and assists in the decision making of CLSBA's Mission and Vision.
Secretary
The Secretary shall be responsible for keeping minutes of all meetings, proceedings and actions of the board, committees and of member’s meetings. The Secretary will be responsible for the association’s articles of incorporation, corporate seal, bylaws, and keep a record of the corporation’s members. The Secretary will produce a notice of all meetings of the board of directors, members and committees and shall have such other powers and perform other duties as the board or bylaws prescribe.
Treasurer
The treasure shall keep and maintain correct books and records of accounts and transactions of the corporation. Acting as Chief Financial Officer the Treasurer shall be responsible for giving members and directors financial statements and reports as are required by law, by the bylaws or by the board. The Treasurer shall deposit, disburse or render funds in the name of the corporation as may be ordered by the board of directors.
At-Large Directors
Directors At-Large serve as part of the Board, to direct the organization in a manner consistent with CLSBA's Mission and Vision. They serve as representatives for the respective regions where they serve as elected and appointed school board members. They act by majority with the power and authority to manage the affairs and activities of the organization, including managing the finances, determining activities, and policies of the organization.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO VOTE?
Regular Voting Members and District Members in good standing as defined by Article III, of our Bylaws are eligible to vote. In general, these members are current dues paying members of CLSBA who are elected or appointed Trustees or Board members for a local school district, community college district, county board of trustees, or county board of education or State Board of education in the United States.
