The CLSBA Nominations and Elections Committee is pleased to share with you the 2021-2022 CLSBA Board of Directors election results. The CLSBA Board expresses its sincere gratitude to those who ran as candidates.

The incoming 2022 Board Members-at-Large include incumbents - Lorena Chavez, Adam Escoto, Dr. Olga Rios, and Ana Vasudeo.  

Thanks to everyone who voted in this election and for your participation in this important democratic process. Participation in elections, as candidates and voters, is critical to ensuring that we stay true to our mission and hear all members’ voices.

How long have you been a member of CLSBA?
4 years 

What is your favorite part of being a school board member?
My favorite part of serving as a board member is "Serving Students and Families". Being a voice advocating for Equity, Diversity, Accountability and Transparency.

How has being a member of CLSBA helped you as a school board member?
It has empowered my abilities as a Latina Women in Leadership

What or who inspires you and why?
I was inspired to be the voice for those Latino Families and Latino Community Members that can't speak the English language or understand the culture.

What advice would you give to those who are thinking about or want to run for school board?
I would encourage them to run for a position and get educated through trainings to effectively serve your communities.

What particular experiences or skills have prepared you to serve as a school board member?
My open communication, positive relationship with community members and understanding the goal of serving our students, families and school staff.

Is there anything else you would like to share about your school board/district service or accomplishments?
Advocating for Equity, Diversity , Accountability and Transparency is the most important goal in my leadership as a board of trustees.
